Preparing Students for Real Careers and Building a Workforce That Moves District 79 Forward
I believe our responsibility is simple. When our students graduate, they should be prepared for real life, not just a test.
Right now, too many young people leave school without a clear path forward. At the same time, businesses across our region are struggling to find skilled workers. That gap is not just an education issue. It is an economic issue that affects families, employers, and the future of our community.
That is why I am committed to strengthening career and technical education and expanding real-world learning opportunities. Programs that connect students to hands-on skills, certifications, and apprenticeships are proven to prepare them for high-demand careers in fields like healthcare, technology, and skilled trades.
I want to see stronger partnerships between our schools, Midlands Technical College, and local industries so students can move directly from the classroom into meaningful careers. Community colleges play a critical role in helping students transition into the workforce and supporting local economic growth.
This is about more than education. It is about opportunity. It is about making sure every student, no matter their background, has a pathway to success and a chance to build a stable future right here in our community.
When we align education with opportunity, we strengthen families, grow our workforce, and move District 79 forward together.
